Boost availability of brown rice at eateries

I fully agree that eating brown rice is a much healthier option, but it is extremely difficult to find stalls that sell it ("Diabetes: The rice you eat is worse than sugary drinks" and "Hooked on white rice, but some ready to change diet"; both published on May 6).

At foodcourts, very few stalls offer brown rice as an option.

If we want to encourage more people to eat brown rice instead of white rice, brown rice will have to be more readily available at eateries, especially since many people dine out these days.

I eat brown rice at home, but if the Health Promotion Board wants to promote healthy eating outside of the home, then, more needs to be done to ensure availability of cooked brown rice.
