ATMs should not display full account numbers on screen

Recently, I withdrew some money from a POSB automated teller machine. The ATM was equipped with an upgraded program that displays all the accounts linked to an ATM card, with their account numbers on the screen - and the information was visible to a person queueing behind.

Previously, only the type of accounts was displayed, without the account numbers, for the user's selection.

When an NRIC number is displayed in public documents, only the last four digits are shown.

In the same way, there is no need to display the full account number on an ATM.

In fact, I wonder if this constitutes a breach of confidentiality or privacy of an account holder under the Banking Act.
