Abilities test not a good idea

At first glance, adding the General Ability Test (GAT) may seem like a feasible idea ("Add abilities test to PSLE score" by Ms Maria Loh Mun Foong; May 20).
However, it is far from ideal.
First, it is another test which students must prepare for. The hassle of preparing for it could cause students to fall behind in other subjects.
This adds unnecessary pressure on students ("Abilities test only adds stress" by Mr Leong Kok Seng; June 7).
