SMEs can gain by tapping AI, but jobs may be at risk

SINGAPORE – The much-hyped technology of artificial intelligence (AI) has left smaller firms here in a quandary, with many hoping to use it to boost business while acutely aware that it could cost jobs. 

Bosses are also wary about the rapid advancement of AI, and how it might outpace regulatory measures and lead to ethical challenges related to sensitive data exposure and privacy breaches.
