SINGAPORE – Consumers in Singapore could see some of their Chinese New Year (CNY) purchases delayed in transit as a result of labour shortages at China’s ports and factories over the festive season.

However, the high costs that have plagued the global economy since the pandemic started could abate as the year progresses, potentially leading to cheaper goods, industry players said.
