SINGAPORE – PSA Singapore and Chinese shipping line Cosco have agreed to collaborate on warehousing and logistics at a new facility in Singapore’s new mega port in Tuas.

The PSA Supply Chain Hub @ Tuas (PSCH), located within Tuas Port and the adjacent Tuas Free Trade Zone, is slated to start operations in 2027, said PSA, which operates the world’s largest container transshipment hub in Singapore.

PSCH will support the growing movement of high-value goods across South-east Asia, China and the Asia-Pacific by housing everything, from storage and distribution to cold rooms and the handling of hazardous goods, in a single facility.

A memorandum of understanding was signed on Sept 15 between Goldlead Supply Chain Development (Southeast Asia), a joint venture between Cosco Shipping Holdings and Cosco Shipping International (Singapore), and PSA.

PSA said the tie-up with Cosco builds on their long partnership and takes it beyond container port operations into full supply chain services.

The partnership will also benefit customers in Asia and beyond by combining PSA’s port and supply chain system with Cosco’s shipping and logistics network.

Cosco is a state-owned multinational marine transportation service conglomerate based in Shanghai. It dominates the fast-growing intra-Asia trade, which is estimated to be the single largest container shipping market in the world – bigger than the transpacific and Asia–Europe markets.

In the first half of 2025, the company moved 13.28 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of containers, with freight volumes on intra-Asia routes rising 5.2 per cent from the same period in 2024.

Goldlead chief executive Zhou Ganfei said: “Singapore’s strategic location and PSA’s state-of-the-art facilities make this collaboration a natural fit.”

He said the supply chain hub at Tuas Port will enable Cosco to serve customers in South-east Asia and beyond with greater speed and efficiency.

Ms Seow Hwee, PSA’s head of port ecosystem for South-east Asia, said the partnership helps the port operator strengthen its key operations and build a more resilient system while making the most of Singapore’s role as a global logistics hub.

In 2024, Singapore’s port terminals

handled a record 622.67 million tonnes of cargo and 40.9 million TEUs

, with bunker sales reaching a record 54.92 million tonnes.

Earlier in September, PSA International, which operates PSA’s ports globally, was named the

best container terminal operator in the world

for the seventh time at the 2025 Asian Freight, Logistics and Supply Chain Awards in Hong Kong.
