SINGAPORE – Mr Dilip Dickrose, 29, gave up his career in media production to become a plumber in 2015 despite graduating with an unrelated diploma in new media.

He is part of a small pool of younger workers in the plumbing industry. While such tradesmen vocations are for now not pursued by many younger job seekers, the tide may soon turn.
