It has always been expensive to raise a child in New York City. Try having three.

The median rent for an apartment with three or more bedrooms in Manhattan is more than US$7,000 (S$9,000). Inventory for large rental apartments is at a six-year low. Daycare for three young children can run some families US$50,000 or even US$100,000 a year.
