SINGAPORE – Relatives bent on suing each other over money should learn from the wisdom of the timeless adage “let sleeping dogs lie”, as such actions can sometimes backfire and result in big losses, as one family found to its horror.

As in many informally run family businesses, this sorry tale came about because a man treated the motorcycle business that he co-owned with his mother as his “piggy bank” and would withdraw funds for his personal use.
