Here are the biggest unknowns the Deal Book team will be watching as we cover business and the economy this year.

Researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology concluded last summer that while organisations had invested from US$30 billion (S$38.6 billion) to US$40 billion into AI, they had basically nothing to show for it. Ninety-five per cent of organisations were getting zero return, they wrote in a report based on structured interviews, public AI initiatives and announcements and surveys.
