SINGAPORE - For every tech tycoon like Alibaba founder Jack Ma, there are a multitude of coders slaving away in a back room.

Working in information technology (IT) may not always be as glamorous as some people think, but the beauty of it is that anyone can easily create something useful with just a laptop and an Internet connection, says industry veteran Gunasekharan Chellappan.
