It took banking executive Dane Lim the better part of a year to finally meet his team in person after he joined DBS Bank at the end of March last year, when working from home was already well under way.

He said he initially felt some apprehension about joining a new firm and getting to know the team and the company culture while working remotely, especially as he was hired into a function that was new to him.
