DPM Tharman to attend G20 finance meetings in Chengdu this weekend

SINGAPORE - Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies, Tharman Shanmugaratnam will be attending the G20 finance ministers and central bank governors meeting in Chengdu, China, from July 23 to 24.

The G20 meeting will discuss policies to enhance economic resilience amidst new global uncertainties.

Mr Tharman will also be a speaker at the G20 high level tax symposium on July 23, the Ministry of Finance (MOF) said it announcing the trip on Friday (July 22). The symposium will cover the design of tax policies to support innovation-driven and inclusive growth, and to enhance tax certainty for businesses in the digital economy.

Mr Tharman will be accompanied by officials from MOF and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
