SINGAPORE - Civil engineering group Swee Hong said its managing director and group chief executive officer Ong Hock Leong has vacated his posts after a bankruptcy order was made against him.

Swee Hong said its board of directors was informed by Mr Ong's lawyers that a bankruptcy order had been made on Feb 18 and, consequently, his office as director of the company was vacated in accordance with Section 148 of the Companies Act, Chapter 50.

Mr Ong,44, will also cease to act as the managing director and the group chief executive officer with effect from Feb 18, said the company in a filing with the Singapore Exchange on Monday (Feb 22).

The company has appointed Mr. Mohamed Amanullah, 39, as the acting group CEO, with effect Feb 19, it said on Monday.

Mr. Amanullah will also continue to serve in his current role as chief financial officer.

Mr Ong has agreed to the board's request for him to remain an advisor to the board and management team in light of his experience, said the company.
