SINGAPORE - StarHub posted net profit of $26.2 million for its third quarter ended Sept 30, down 35.3 per cent from $40.4 million in the previous corresponding period.
The earnings decline was attributed to lower gross profit from segments with revenue decline, the telco said on Nov 14.
Revenue for the third quarter fell 4.3 per cent to $550.3 million, from $575.2 million in the corresponding period a year earlier.
Mobile revenue declined 10.1 per cent to $128.9 million, from $143.3 million in the year-ago period.
Mobile post-paid and pre-paid average revenue per user (Arpu) fell to $22 in the third quarter of 2025 from $23 in the third quarter of 2024, due to declines in roaming, international direct dialling, value-added services and excess data usage revenues. It was, however, an increase from $20 in the previous quarter.
Broadband revenue was down 4.4 per cent at $60.4 million, from $63.2 million previously. Arpu in this segment also declined, from $35 in the third quarter of 2024 to $34 in the third quarter of 2025.
Entertainment revenue slid 4.3 per cent to $49.9 million, from $52.1 million in the third quarter of 2024.
Enterprise revenue fell 7.8 per cent to $145.7 million, from $158 million in the same period a year ago.
Shares of StarHub closed down 0.9 per cent or one cent at $1.16 on Nov 13, before its results announcement. THE BUSINESS TIMES
