Soilbuild Construction unit awarded US$10.5 million contract in Myanmar

SINGAPORE - A wholly-owned unit of Soilbuild Construction Group has been awarded a contract worth US$10.5 million, or about S$14.5 million, to build a 12-storey hotel building in Myanmar.

The project, to be sited at the corner of Sayar San Road and Pyi Htaung Su Yeik Tha Street in Bahan Township, Yangon, is expected to commence in the third quarter of this year, and completed within 18 months.

It will be carried out by Soilbuild Construction (Myanmar) Company, said the group in a statement on Monday.

The latest contract has raised Soilbuild's order book to S$508.1 million as at the end of March.

Soilbuild shares closed flat at 21.5 cents on Monday, before the announcement was made.
