SINGAPORE - Singapore shares opened higher on Thursday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index at 2,844.54 in early trade, up 1.86 per cent, or 51.81 points.
Around 230.6 million shares exchanged hands.
Gainers beat losers 113 to 27.
