SINGAPORE - Singapore shares opened lower on Wednesday (Aug 26), with the benchmark Straits Times Index at 2,861.51 in early trade, down 0.86 per cent, or 24.78 points.
Around 503.4 million shares exchanged hands.
Losers beat gainers 117 to 67.
