SINGAPORE - Singapore shares opened 1.40% lower on Tuesday (Sept 13), with the benchmark Straits Times Index at 2,833.04 in early trade, down 1.40 per cent, or 40.29 points.
Around 69.9 million shares exchanged hands.
Losers beat gainers 143 to 33.
