SINGAPORE - Singapore shares opened higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index at 2,883.58 in early trade, up 0.44 per cent, or 12.8 points.

Around 104.8 million shares exchanged hands.

Gainers beat losers 130 to 50.
