SINGAPORE - Singapore shares opened higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index at 2,801.76 in early trade, up 0.44 per cent, or 12.31 points.
Around 34 million shares exchanged hands.
Gainers beat losers 78 to 43.
