SINGAPORE - Singapore shares opened 0.41% lower on Monday (Oct 17), with the benchmark Straits Times Index at 2,803.77 in early trade, down 0.41 per cent, or 11.47 points.

Around 169.7 million shares exchanged hands.

Gainers beat losers 85 to 69.
