SINGAPORE - Singapore Exchange Regulation, or SGX RegCo, has appointed Mr Alan Shaw, Ms Jane Diplock AO and Mr Ronny Tan to its board.

SGX RegCo, which is a new unit set up to handle stock market regulatory functions, begins operations on Sept 15.

The three board members will join Professor Tan Cheng Han, the chairman, and Mr Tan Boon Gin, executive director and chief executive of SGX RegCo.

Mr Shaw is the principal of Alan J Shaw Consulting, a firm dealing in legal, regulatory and merger and acquisition matters.

Ms Diplock has been an independent non-executive director of the SGX since 2011. She will be a non-independent and non-executive director of SGX RegCo.

Mr Ronny Tan is a board member of Sentosa Development Corp, Sentosa Golf Club president and a non-executive director of Lombard Odier (Singapore) and Covalent Capital.

SGX RegCo chairman Tan Cheng Han said: "Alan, Jane and Ronny bring to the SGX RegCo board wide-ranging and deep experience in banking and finance, markets, and regulation. Their ideas and insights will be invaluable as the board shapes the strategic direction of SGX RegCo in the face of rapid, and even disruptive, changes in the markets and investor behaviour."
