Citi Singapore's country officer Michael Zink to retire

SINGAPORE - Citi Singapore's country officer and head of Asean Michael Zink has decided to retire, the bank announced on Friday (Feb 19).

Mr Zink has been with Citi for more than 28 years, and was appointed country officer for Singapore in April 2010. He later became head of Asean in February 2012.

He is one of the longest serving country heads in Singapore.

In a memo to staff ,Citigroup Asia Pacific chief executive Francisco Aristeguieta said Mr Zink "has informed me of his decision to retire. Michael has decided that now is the right time for him to return to the US".

The note added that Mr Zink "will ensure a smooth transition" as the bank starts the "process to fill the two vital roles of Asean head and Singapore CCO".

Citi said a successor is expected to be announced in due course, and Mr Zink will be with the firm till around May.
