S'pore's financial sector grew 6% in first half of 2021: MAS
It says barring global economic setback, GDP could exceed upper end of 4%-to-6% forecast range

The financial sector had already outperformed the overall economy last year by expanding 5.1 per cent, noted the Monetary Authority of Singapore. This pace was even faster than in 2019, before the onset of the Covid-19 outbreak.

With Singapore's economic recovery set to pick up pace in the second half of this year, the financial sector is also on its way for another year of robust growth, the central bank said as it released its annual report yesterday.
The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) estimates the financial services sector grew by about 6 per cent in the first half of this year, said its managing director Ravi Menon at a briefing on the report.
