SINGAPORE - Around 100 million new notes have been issued for the upcoming festive season although Singaporeans have been urged to take the eco-friendly approach and send e-hongbao (red packets) instead.

The amount of notes is similar to last year with most allocated to DBS, OCBC and UOB banks as they serve most of the population through their wide network of distribution points.
