Major tech firms in Asia still hiring, layoffs subdued

SINGAPORE - Although buffeted by the global economic slowdown, layoffs and hiring freezes remained relatively subdued within major tech firms in Asia compared with the deep cuts seen at competitors elsewhere.

One such Asian giant is South Korean gaming company Nexon, which is listed in Japan and employs more than 7,000 worldwide.
