She previously spent four years reporting from Singapore on the social impacts of Covid-19 and gender relations in Asia for foreign outlets. Her book, Please Yell at My Kids, blends memoir and global reporting to examine how communities can better support parents and children. Marina holds a graduate degree in journalism from Columbia University.
