Christine Tan

Christine has been on the crime and courts beat since 2020, first for Chinese-language papers Lianhe Zaobao and Lianhe Wanbao, then for The Straits Times. She has covered a wide range of cases, including the River Valley High School homicide and trials of prominent politicians. She holds a degree in communication studies from Nanyang Technological University. Christine is passionate about stories of vulnerable communities, such as migrant workers and those with mental health conditions.

Singapore's first Migrant Worker Law Centre, which is open five days a week to provide legal assistance for this community, is approaching the end of its first year. It was set up in April 2025 by the Migrant Workers' Centre and law charity Pro Bono SG.
