Parrot accused of foul talk

A supposedly abusive parrot ruffles feathers in the Indian state of Maharashtra.

This Indian parrot has a mouth on him - at least that's what this woman, named Janabai, told police in the Indian state of Maharashtra.

Janabai claims the parrot's owner, her own stepson, Suresh, has trained the parrot to abuse her when she passes by his house.

She says the cocky bird has been harassing her for two years.

"When the parrot sees me it uses bad language and foul words. That is why I have complained three times in the last two years. Police called me, Suresh and the parrot to the police station. Police should investigate and seize the parrot."

But at the police station the parrot held his tongue.

With no proof of his insolence and no laws against potty-mouth parrots, officers had to let the bird go and live his life -hopefully without ruffling anyone else's feathers.
