NEW DELHI - The last time Ms Huma Khan (name changed on request) spoke to her ageing mother in Kashmir was on Sunday (Aug 4).
Based in Delhi, the development professional had heard from her of growing panic and confusion in the state as India sent in troop reinforcements, snapped communication lines, outlawed public gatherings and arrested the state's top leaders, putting in place a complete clampdown.
