India struggles to attract foreign tourists

About 10.93 million foreign travellers visited India in 2019, while there were only 1.52 million foreign tourists in 2021.

NEW DELHI - Foreign tourists are still giving India a miss, impacting the revival of the country’s tourism sector.
About 3.3 million foreign tourists visited India between January and August in 2022, which is 50 per cent below the pre-pandemic level for the same period, but still a jump from 630,000 for the same period in 2021, a Covid-19 year.
