Health experts and consumer rights advocates in India are up in arms about a proposed star-based front-of-pack labelling (FOPL) system intended to deter rising consumption of unhealthy processed food in the country.
They claim it will mislead consumers by conveying "approval" for such items high in sugar, salt and saturated fats.
