When members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) celebrated their hard-earned win in the Delhi state elections last Tuesday, they danced and distributed sweets in public. But many other Indians chose an unusual gustatory spin for their revelry.
They dug into their favourite version of briyani, with many posting pictures of the traditional rice and meat dish prepared in their homes. Restaurants in Delhi even recorded a spike in briyani sales that day, according to a report in The Economic Times.
