NEW DELHI - India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has received a much-needed political boost after leading his party to victory in regional elections in Delhi, in a hard fought battle against opposition parties.
The win for Mr Modi, who helmed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Delhi campaign, comes at an opportune time. His government has tussled with faltering economic growth, which slumped to a low of 5.4 per cent between July and September on the back of falling consumption.
