LANGKAWI – A worker performing maintenance work on the Eagle’s Nest Skywalk, next to the Cable Car at the top of the hill, fell off a platform on Oct 3.
Kedah Fire and Rescue Department Zone 4 chief Mohd Zamri Abd Ghani said the victim, identified as Mr Khairul Nizam Jaffar, 41, was tasked to conduct maintenance work at the second level before he fell.
Mr Mohd Zamri said the department was alerted of the incident at about 1.15pm on Oct 3.
“The victim fell to the bottom from a height of between 40 to 50m. Weather was good, with no heavy rain during the incident,” he said.
The status of the victim had yet to be ascertained, as rescuers are attempting to approach and recover the victim. THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
