Weak 3.0 magnitude earthquake hits Sabah town

KUALA LUMPUR - A weak earthquake measuring 3.0 on the Richter scale hit Ranau, Sabah, at 6.30pm on Friday (Aug 5), Bernama new agency reported.
Citing the Malaysian Meteorological Department, it said the quake's epicentre was 6.0 degrees north , 116.6 degrees east and 11 km west of Ranau.
Tremors were felt in Ranau but the quake did not pose any tsunami threat, added the report.
