Wang Yi’s visit signals China’s desire to engage with South-east Asia’s new and incoming leaders

BANGKOK – On Sunday, a week before stepping down, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen welcomed Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Phnom Penh.

On the same day, the visiting Chinese envoy held separate talks with incoming premier Hun Manet, capping off a four-day, three-nation visit to reinforce key partnerships within South-east Asia.
