DENPASAR – Nearly a decade after it was first proposed, plans for a new international airport in northern Bali remain in limbo, with no confirmed location or construction timeline, despite the government’s renewed promises to fast-track the ambitious project.
Ms Endah Purnamasari, director-general of air transportation at Indonesia’s Transportation Ministry, said the ministry has the authority to determine the location of the new airport. However, several key documents must be submitted before any proposed site can be approved.
