Thai coronation expected to temper unrest caused by election delay

BANGKOK - After weeks of speculation, Thailand's Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has given one of the strongest indications that the Feb 24 election will be delayed yet again.

"The election will come surely, but any delay that is made will have a reason," he said in a speech on Wednesday (Jan 16). "This is just about adjusting the (election) time but it will certainly come before May 9."
