Singaporean motorcyclist dies after accident involving car and MPV in Johor

SINGAPORE – A 51-year-old Singaporean motorcyclist died on Nov 16 after colliding with a car in Johor.
In a statement on Nov 16, Kluang district police chief Bahrin Mohd Noh said the motorcyclist was travelling towards Kluang when the accident happened at around 4.30pm on Jalan Batu Pahat-Mersing.
Mr Bahrin said the motorcyclist was overtaking a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) when he lost control and veered into the opposite lane.
He then collided with a car, which lost control and drove into the opposite traffic before hitting the MPV which the motorcyclist had earlier overtaken.
The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and died at the scene.
The car driver, a 43-year-old Malaysian man, suffered injuries to his face, chest and legs. He received treatment at Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom Kluang Hospital.
In their statement, the Kluang police advised road users to always be careful and considerate of others on the road to avoid accidents.
They also appealed for anyone with information regarding the accident to contact them.
