Resurgent opposition not yet a threat to Cambodia's ruling party

BANGKOK - Despite the talk of a resurgent opposition, Cambodia's ruling party won the vast majority of seats in Sunday's (June 5) local elections.
The Cambodian People's Party (CPP) bagged 80 per cent of the 11,622 commune councillor positions, according to the National Election Committee. Its biggest challenger - the Candlelight Party - won 18 per cent.
