KUALA PILAH, Negeri Sembilan – A family of three had a fright when a 15kg reticulated python fell through the ceiling of their house in the small town of Kuala Pilah in the Malaysian state of Negeri Sembilan.
District Civil Defence officer Mohamad Ghazali Abd Rahim said his team received a call from the family in the Rumah Rakyat Padang Lebar housing scheme at 9.50am on Sept 5.
He said a three-man team was immediately sent to the house to help catch the reptile.
“When my men reached there, they were told that the snake had slithered into the bathroom,” said Lieutenant Mohamad Ghazali.
“The occupants of the house then quickly closed the bathroom door to prevent the snake from escaping.”
A short while later, the team managed to capture the snake, which was found partially coiled around a mirror in the bathroom.
Lt Mohamad Ghazali said the snake was then taken to the department’s operations centre before being handed over to the Wildlife and National Parks Department. THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
