BANGKOK - It’s now or never for former Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra if he wants to return home after 15 years in self-exile.

Against the backdrop of a precarious political stalemate involving parties negotiating to form the new government, Thaksin’s daughter Paetongtarn Shinawatra, 36, on Wednesday announced that he will return to Thailand on Aug 10.
