Malaysian Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin is seeking to win back the support of influential predecessor Mahathir Mohamad, with olive branches that could include offering the deputy premiership to the latter's son Mukhriz.
The Straits Times has learnt that Tan Sri Muhyiddin, president of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, wants to mend his fractured party, which saw a split in opinions over whether it should allow scandal-hit Umno back into power in the newly formed Perikatan Nasional (PN) administration.
