JOHOR BAHRU – Shoppers at a popular mall in Johor Bahru were left in shock when a section of the ceiling collapsed at approximately 7pm on March 8.
While The Star newspaper did not name the mall, another Malaysian media outlet, China Press, identified it as KSL City Mall.
No casualties were reported in the incident, which involved debris falling onto the floor of the shopping complex.
Images and videos of the incident have since gone viral on social media, raising concerns about building safety.
Larkin Fire Station chief Mohd Suhaimi Abdul Jamal, when contacted on March 9, stated that no report has been made concerning the incident to date.
Meanwhile, Johor Bahru southern district police chief Raub Selamat said police are currently investigating the matter.
“Although no police report has been lodged, we are still going to investigate the matter,” he said. THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
