Supporters of Malaysia's former premier Najib Razak have started a push to get the jailed Umno politician a royal pardon from the country's King, as 300 of them gathered at Malaysia's national palace yesterday.
The move, which came less than 24 hours after Najib's graft conviction was upheld by Malaysia's apex court on Tuesday, was immediately opposed by civil society members.
