PETALING JAYA - The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a continuous rain warning for Pahang, Johor and several other states until Jan 12.

In a statement on Jan 10, MetMalaysia said dangerous levels of continuous torrential rain is expected over the states of Johor - in the districts of Johor Bahru, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Mersing, Pontian, Kulai and Kota Tinggi - and Pahang (Rompin).

A “severe” level of heavy rain warnings were issued for Maran, Kuantan, Bera and Pekan in Pahang as well as Johor’s Tangkak, Segamat and Muar.

MetMalaysia also forecast “alert” level continuous rain over the states of Kelantan; Terengganu; Pahang, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka and Sarawak. THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
