KUALA LUMPUR - A man was killed in Kuala Lumpur after a tree crushed his vehicle following bad weather across the city.
The Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department’s operations centre said the incident occurred between 4pm and 5.30pm on Oct 22, when a heavy downpour hit several parts of the city, uprooting several trees.
“In an incident at Hartamas Regency, Persiaran Dutamas, a 40-year-old man was confirmed dead after a tree fell on the vehicle he was in.
“Two other cars were damaged by fallen trees,” the department said.
In a separate incident at Jalan Metro Prima, Kepong Baru, a woman sustained injuries when another tree collapsed nearby.
Firefighters from the Sri Hartamas and Jinjang fire stations were dispatched to both locations to carry out rescue and clean-up operations.
The department said it remains on high alert as more thunderstorms are expected in the coming days. THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
