JOHOR BAHRU – A man received head injuries after being attacked with a meat cleaver at Jalan Wong Ah Fook, Johor Bahru, on Feb 11.

A video of the incident showed bloodstains on the ground and the public gathering at the scene. It also showed the victim covered in blood.

The video then showed the suspect being detained by police.

The incident was believed to have happened in front of a row of shops in the main passageway connecting the city centre to the Sultan Iskandar Building (BSI).

Johor Bahru South OCPD Assistant Commissioner Raub Selamat confirmed the incident and said an investigation is ongoing.

“We received a police report at 2.52pm, and the suspect has been caught,” he said, adding that a media statement would be made once the investigation concludes.

He said the victim has been brought to the Sultanah Aminah Hospital for treatment. THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK
